Agra Red Fort : A military establishment built by Akbar in 1565, the red sandstone Agra fort was partially converted into a palace during the reign of Shah Jehan.
Itmad-Ud-Daulah's Tomb : This tomb belongs to the father of Nur Jahan, Ghias-ud-Din Beg. He was the Wajir or the Chief Minister of Emperor Jehangir. The tomb may not be as attractive as the Taj but the inlay designs and carvings are no less in artistry than the Taj.

Sikandra : At a distance of four kilometers is the mausoleum of Akbar. Akbar himself started the Construction of this beautiful monument. The Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Jain motifs are blended beautifully in this monument.
Fatehpur Sikri : Just 37 kms from Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, built in the days of Mughal emperor Akbar, is a city predominantly in Red Sandstone. Shortage of water compelled Akbar to abandon the city that he planned and built as the capital and within 20 years of establishment, the capital of Mughals was shifted to Lahore.
