The goal of "Gabriele's Travels to Italy" is to inspire you to discover the real Italy, the out-of-the-way places where the sights and sounds of real people will provide wonderful memories for a lifetime. Owner Gabriele Dellanave was born and raised in Italy. The tours found in this website have been designed to show his country as the local people living there know it -- the uncrowded, unusual places that most visitors never see, be it a precious cloister in a secluded abbey in the woods of central Italy, medieval villages dotting the Umbrian landscape, or a country inn' which offers exquisite food and wine.Tour participants experience mystical landscapes, harmonious architecture, Renaissance art, local markets and piazzas, and observe skilled artisans demonstrating secrets passed down through generations. There is the opportunity to indulge in regional cuisine, fine wines and oils, and a vast array of cured meats, cheeses and breads.Tours offered keep in mind the well-travelled, familiar with major Italian landmarks, as well as the first time traveler, to Italy, in search of new experiences. Group size is limited. Small groups offer more flexibility and opportunities. Itineraries are adjusted frequently to take advantage of festivals, holiday offerings, and spontaneous invitations from our Italian hosts, craftsmen and others. Accommodations are usually at inns and villas which are not designed for large groups.
