Places of Interest
The town of Chamba, the district headquarter of Chamba district is situated in the western Himalayas between north latitudes 32°10' and 33°13' and east longitudes 75°45' and 77°33'. Narkanda town, some distance from Shimla, is also a quiet peaceful tourist spot.

Dharamsala is a quant little mountain town which is as famous for its views and the trails as it is for the fact that it is the Indian abode of the Dalai Lama in exile. Dharmsala attracts people and celebrities from the world over. People generally come here with the hope of getting a glimpse of the lama and also because Dharamsala is a spiritual haven, energising people against the difficulties and stresses of life.

Museums
The Himachal State Museum displays sculpture, paintings, decorative arts, jewellery, wood carvings, manuscripts, arms and armoury. Also on view are Stone Age tools and implements. prehistoric pottery and terracotta.

Himachal Pradesh has a varied topography, climate and forest cover and is endowed with a vast variety of flora and fauna. From times immemorial, this tract is known for its wilderness, landscapes, beautiful forests and wildlife.

For sheer geographical diversity, few places in the world are as richly endowed as Himachal Pradesh. Low rolling hills, just a couple of hundred meters above sea level, climb on to touch the core of the Himalaya mountains.
