Rolling Stones’ A Bigger Bang tour became the new top-grossing tour of all times, placing U2’s Vertigo on the second stop with only $333 million, according to Billboard magazine.
Starting with August 2005, the legendary rock band has performed in over 110 shows in front of 3.5 million people gathering $437 million. In addition, an estimated crowd of 2 million saw the band playing at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro back in February for free.
The results came as a surprise considering all the health problems the members faced over the last year. Due to lead Mick Jagger’s sore throat, the group had to cancel several shows and postpone others.
After Mick Jagger was ordered to rest his voice and recover from laryngitis, if he wanted to keep it, the final gig which was supposed to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, was delayed earlier this month.
