PGMA signs Tourism Bill 2009 soon

TACLOBAN CITY – President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has received the Tourism Bill 2009 and she is expected to sign the Bill soon.

“I can assure the industry and all its stakeholders that the Bill will be signed very soon,” Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said in a radio interview over the weekend.

The signing of the Tourism Bill 2009 comes at a time when the Philippines is considered as a favorite destination in Asia.

The Bill is entitled "An Act declaring a national policy for tourism as an engine of investment, employment, growth and national development, and strengthening the Department of Tourism and its attached agencies to effectively and efficiently implement that policy, and appropriating funds therefore."
